Every article I find asks me to pay for it. What can I do?

Answer

Three answers.

First, never pay for access to any article or book. Keep reading for your options.

Second, if you are using Google Scholar, or just regular Google, you may need to connect our library resources to Google Scholar, and learn more about how to best use Google Scholar, to know what you are looking at and where to click to optimize finding full text.

Second, make absolutely sure that the library doesn't have the article in our holdings before you make any further plans to obtain an article.

Finally, if it's confirmed that the article is not freely available on the web or in the library databases, the library can request a copy of the article from our loan partner libraries for you. The library's document delivery and interlibrary loan services are free for students, faculty, and staff, and easy to use.
